Mr. Curtis Leroy Thrift, age 69 of Glen St. Mary, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014. He was born in Blackshear, Georgia to the late Jesse and Mattie Dixon Thrift. Mr. Thrift was a farmer and loved fox hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife: Marlene Thrift; son: Billy (Debbie) Sauls of Patterson, Georgia; daughters: Patricia (Kenny) Lentz of St. George, Georgia, Cheryl (Jeff) Westberry of Screven, Georgia, Kathy (Ronnie) Joyner of Waycross, Georgia, and Christine Self of Glen St. Mary, Florida; brother: Marion (Frances) Thrift of Blackshear, Georgia; sisters: Jessie K. Stephens of Jacksonville, Martha Marshall of Blackshear, Georgia, and Sue (Vincent) Joseph of Bartow, Florida; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Otis and Odis Thrift. A celebration of his life was held at his residence, 1:00pm, Monday, December 08, 2014.
