Mrs. Claudia E. Johns, age 70 of Macclenny, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. Mrs. Johns was a lifelong Baker County resident and a graduate of Baker County High School; class of 1964. Upon graduating, she obtained her cosmetology license from Lake City Community College. She was a woman of faith and a homemaker. She cherished her family and loved being a mother and grandmother. Mrs. Johns had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories and "spinning a yarn". She enjoyed traveling and camping, shopping, and going to yard sales and auctions. She also enjoyed time at home, watching movies, doing crossword puzzles and caring for her pets. She is survived by her sons: Shane (Nicki) Paige of Glen St. Mary, David (Angela) St John of Jacksonville, and Robert (Amanda) Johns of Macclenny; daughters: Tonya (Donna) Barton of Macclenny, Angela Paige of Austin, TX, and Melissa Jones of Macclenny; step-son: David Johns Jr. of Glen St. Mary; brother: David (Debbie) St John of Macclenny; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty years: Jonathan D. Johns and her parents; Thomas and Lottie Faye Cobb St John. Funeral services were held graveside at 11:00am, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Swift Creek Cemetery, Lake Butler, Florida with Reverend Elmer Crews officiating.
