Charles Virgil Raulerson, age 91 of Lake City passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at his residence. Best known to those closest to him as “Virgil”, Mr. Raulerson was born on June 26, 1930 in Taylor to the late Mr. Andrew J. and Minnie (Crews) Raulerson. Mr. Virgil was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He would work for many years as a truck driver for Dixie Plywood. In his free time, Mr. Raulerson enjoyed fishing. His first priority however, was being a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mrs. Emily “Marion”. Together they spent over seventy years of their life before her passing earlier this year. They enjoyed traveling, especially to the North Georgia mountains, where they would reside for several years. Mr. Virgil also enjoyed relaxing on his front porch, listening to his wind chimes.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Aaron Raulerson, Cecil Raulerson, and Melvin Raulerson; and his beloved wife: Mrs. Emily Marion (Fraser) Raulerson.

He is survived by his children: Glenn (Grace) Raulerson, Joni Raulerson, Berry Raulerson, Allen (Shelli) Raulerson, Angel (Sean) Rabuck, and Tonya (Tom) Sembower; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Sylvia Spires, Ophelia Nelon, and Naomi Higginbotham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Johns officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service in the chapel. Interment will follow at Manntown Cemetery.
