Carl F. "Sonny" Kirkland

Mr. Carl F. "Sonny" Kirkland, age 66 of Sanderson, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017. Mr. Kirkland was born in Panama City, Florida, to the late Franklin and Mildred Meyer Kirkland. He spent most of his life in Jacksonville before moving to Baker County fifteen years ago. For many years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator and was also a maintenance clerk at Walmart for a time. Mr. Kirkland was a happy, easy-going man who loved animals and children. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting.  Sonny will be greatly missed by many close friends and family including his son Kaden Kirkland, his Aunt, Dean Stewart, Betty Mixon, Kristina Kirkland, Adrianne Lamont, Dusty and Gail Nipper, Lisa and Hugh Cook; and faithful companion, his dog, Shadow.  His family will celebrate his life, privately, at a later date.
