Bonnie Faye Lindsey, 64 of Glen St. Mary passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside in Jacksonville. Born on February 18, 1956, Mrs. Bonnie was the daughter of the late Mr. John Henry and Joyce (Combs) Swindell and was a lifelong resident of Baker county. She went on to marry Mr. Eugene Lindsey and they spent thirty-eight wonderful years together. She worked for many years as the supervisor of housekeeping at Macclenny Nursing and Rehab and eventually at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital where she retired. In her free time, Bonnie loved to spend time with her friends that became family at the Macclenny Moose Lodge #2412, where she and Mr. Eugene became members in 2006. She had a heart for helping others, even taking in an abandoned child that they found and eventually helped get adopted. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, riding in the woods and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents and a brother: Mr. Raymond Swindell.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Mr. Eugene Lindsey of Glen St. Mary; sons: William “Rusty” (Sherri) Padgett of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Charles “Chucky” (Kelly) Womack of Daytona, Waylon Lindsey of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Quaid Lindsey of Glen St. Mary; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers: Larry Edward Swindell, Johnny Bruce Swindell, Darrell Wayne Swindell, and James “Randy” (Kathy) Swindell; as well as all of her Moose Lodge family and other friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Bro. Kyle Lloyd officiating. Bonnie’s family will be receiving friends Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Forbes Funeral Home Chapel.
Final Memorialization will be by cremation.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made in Mrs. Bonnie’s honor to the Macclenny Moose Lodge #2412.
