Billy Godwin

Mr. Billy R. Godwin, age 70 of Maxville, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016. Mr. Godwin was born to the late Samuel and Violet Harris Godwin and was a lifelong Maxville resident. He was a United States Army veteran and a retired truck driver for Pritchett Trucking, Inc. Mr. Godwin was an easy going man who enjoyed taking walks, riding in the woods, and feeding wild birds. He loved planting a garden and enjoying a good meal. He especially loved his family and his cat, Tabby. He is survived by his wife of forty eight years: Marlene Godwin; and daughters: Marlisa Godwin and Cheyenne Godwin, all of Maxville. Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Bobby Godwin and Willie Godwin; and sister: Joyce Anderson. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
