Betty Sue Waters, age 74 of Port St. Joe passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on April 10, 1947 to the late Mr. Edward and Dorothy (Putnal) Hawkins in Carrabelle.

Ms. Betty was well known in Port St. Joe after having worked for several years as a bank teller and dispatcher at the telephone company. She loved her coffee and enjoyed fishing and trips to the beach. She was also a Godly woman who was a long time member of Highland View Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time reading her bible.  Above all else, she loved to spend time with her family and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband: Douglas Aycock; and siblings: James Phillips, Tommy Phillips, Jr., Frances Hawkins, and Star Langley.

She leaves behind to cherish years of memories; her children: Jason (Kimberly) Terry of Albany, Georgia, Jacki (Richard) Skinkis of Port St. Joe, Kimberly (Apollo) Vickers of Dothan, Alabama, and Wendy Whitfield of Wewahitchka; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother: Trabue “Bo” Hawkins of Crawfordville; sister: Mary Ann Taylor of Panacea; sister-in-law: Stella Phillips of Bonifay; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 at Holly Hills Cemetery at 2:00 PM with her pastor, Rev. James Younis officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
