Ms. Betty Jean Hartsfield, age 74 of Panacea, Florida, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 29, 2013. A native of Wakulla County, Betty Jean was born to the late Gordon and Gracie Lee Nichols of Otter Creek. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics and cooking. She also loved animals, going fishing, and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her sons: Robert (Julie) Hartsfield Jr. of Oyster Bay, Eddy (Gloria) Hartsfield of Crawfordville and Rondal Hartsfield of Panacea; daughter: Rida (John L.) Lewis of Crawfordville; brothers: Clark (Ann) Nichols of Otter Creek and Joe Nichols of East Point; sisters: Lucille Allen of Panacea, Nadine (E. E.) Eunice and Emily (Jim) Laczko both of Tallahassee, Eloise (Ronald) Crum of Panacea, and Esther (Kenneth) McCoy of Otter Creek. Seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous family members and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert "Bo" Hartsfield Sr., infant children: Shirley and Tony Hartsfield; brother: Alexander "Alex" Nichols; and sister: Ava Otto. Funeral services will be held 12:00pm, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Mt. Beasor Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Bruce Taylor and Brother Ray Hutton officiating. Interment will follow at Bonnet Pond Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 5:00pm, Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Ms. Hartsfield's residence, 255 Jer-Belou Blvd., Panacea, FL.
