Betty Lou Andrews, age 81 of Glen St. Mary passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Douglas Center for Caring at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. Betty was born February 27, 1940 to the late Mr. Sydney P. and Ethel (Totty) Andrews in Petersburg, Virginia. She eventually would settle in Baker County, where she spent over 50 years. She worked for thirty years at the Northeast Florida State Hospital and was also a licensed cosmetologist. Ms. Betty loved painting and was well recognized for her art, winning blue ribbons in the fair. She enjoyed singing and dancing and loved her friends at the Moose Lodge #2412 in Macclenny.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Sydney “Butch” Andrews.
She is survived by her daughters: Julie Long of Glen St. Mary, Wanda (Wayne) Parker of Macclenny, and Laura (Ivie) Raulerson of Macclenny; grandchildren: Dustin Hodges, Tara Griffis, Shae Crews, Logan Stephens, Scott Rhoden, Krysten Rhoden, Sydney Raulerson, Joshua Parker, and Jessica Gonzalez; sixteen great-grandchildren; and other extended family members.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Macedonia Cemetery with Rev. Justin Griffis officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 11, 2021 in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home.
