Bessie Agnes Powers
January 27, 1945 — December 13, 2023
Bessie Agnes Powers, age 78 of Jacksonville and formerly of Macclenny, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Cross Care Center. “Agnes”, as friends called her, was born in Lawtey, Florida on January 27, 1945. Agnes enjoyed spending time with her “adopted family” around the holidays. She loved to dance and sing. She also enjoyed exercising and was a proud supporter of our troops.’
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves behind her adopted family that meant so much to her, her “mama”: Sherrie Anderson of Macclenny; her “grandma”: Shirley Harvey; several aunts and uncles; and special friends: Sharon Covington and Christie Whitton.
Funeral services to honor Ms. Agnes’ life will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Rev. Justin Griffis officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the beginning of the service. Interment will follow at Taylor Cemetery.
