Ms. Bernice Kersey Smith Farkas, age 78 of Macclenny, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013. A member of Taylor Church, Ms. Farkas was a resident of Macclenny for 44 years. She was a retired seamstress who enjoyed camping and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband: William "Bill" Farkas of Macclenny; sons: Leroy (Diane) Smith of Glen St. Mary, Randy (Diane) Smith, James (Sandy) Smith, and Ed Smith all of Macclenny; daughter: LouAnn (Marcus) Mann of Macclenny; step-son: Christopher Farkas; step-daughters: Amelia (Steven) Collins and Rebecca Jackson all of Jacksonville; brothers: Walter Kersey and Earnest Kersey Jr.; sisters: Hazel Partin, Virginia Tanner, Christine Yawn, and Lourene Edwards all of Georgia. Sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Eddie Kersey and Albert Kersey. A memorial service will be held 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Christian Fellowship Temple, Macclenny with Pastor David Thomas and Reverend James Nickles officiating.
