Barbara Chesley Crews

Barbara Chesley Crews, 77 of Live Oak, formerly of Columbia County and a longtime resident of Macclenny, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Suwannee Health and Rehabilitation Center in Live Oak.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 14, 1942 to the late Mr. Earl and Margaret (Baker) Harrington, Barbara moved to Florida as a teenager with her family. They settled in Williston and she resided in north Florida for the remainder of her life.
She married her husband, the late Mr. Johnnie Crews on September 3, 1960 in the Temple of Latter Day Saints. They were together until Mr. Johnnie's passing in 2016.
Ms. Barbara loved arts and crafts. She was also a diligent studier of her family's genealogy. She enjoyed holidays, as it would give her time to spend with her family. She was also one to always speak her mind and let you know how she felt.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 56 years.
She leaves behind her daughter: Kathy (Chris) Schell of Live Oak; grandchildren: Johnathan (Deanna) Cannon of Texas, Kyle Cannon of Live Oak, Zachary (Beth James) of Live Oak, Cody (Jess Warner) Schell of Glen St. Mary, and Autumn Schell of Live Oak; great-grandchildren: Alyssa Cannon, Bella Cannon, JJ Cannon, Havoc Cannon, Delilah Crews, Tristan Crews, Aiden Schell, Skyler Schell, and Johnnie Jenkins; brother: Hap (Sarah) Harrington of Murfreesboro, Tenn; sisters: Patti Briffett of Edna, Texas and Vicki Preedom of Gainesville; great-niece: Candy Johnson of England; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 26, 2019 in the Forbes Family Memorial Chapel at 12:00 pm.
A funeral service to honor Ms. Barbara's life will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest in New Zion Cemetery in Lake Butler.
