Arvie Mearl Gainey

Arvie Mearl “Chuck” Gainey of Taylor, died after a long illness on January 4, 2025. He was born and raised in St. George, Ga. Chuck was married to Louise Richardson Gainey for 47 years until her death in November 2012.  

Chuck was a hard worker and loved to work. He hunted in his younger days, and loved to fish all his life. He was always a doer and stayed busy working, helping friends with anything they needed most of his life.

Preceded in Death: wife Louise Gainey, son Kenneth Michael “Mike” Gainey, Mother and Father Clayton Gainey, and Matilda Gainey, Brothers Joe Gainey, Skeeter Gainey, Tommy Gainey, Gene Gainey, William “Bill” Gainey, Johnny Gainey, and Sisters Vivianne and Barbara Ann.

Survived by son Greg (Janice) Gainey, Grandson Kenneth M. Gainey Jr., Great Grandson Tyler Gainey, and Great Grand daughter Victoria Gainey. 

The family will receive friends Monday, January 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Taylor Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Robby Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery.
