Alvin Carter

Mr. Alvin Carter, age 73 of Glen St. Mary, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013. Mr. Carter was born in Raiford to the late English and Nettie Finley Carter. A retired nursery owner/operator, Mr. Carter enjoyed planting and gardening. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Clara Carter; sons: Randall Alvin (Jenny) Carter and Derrick Hudson Carter, both of Macclenny; sister: Esther Clemons of Macclenny; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Phillip E. Carter. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Glen Friendship Tabernacle with Pastor Albert Starling officiating. Interment will follow at Sapp Cemetery, Raiford. The family will receive friends 6-8:00pm, Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in the funeral home chapel.
